Sorry I've neglected you all this week.
It's been one of those 'did I really just sleep for 8 hours' and 'I can't believe it's 10pm' weeks.
The university term has eventually come to an end so I've been packing up all my bits and bobs, and today I'm going to attempt to squeeze them into my little car and head back home for hots baths, crisp sheets and christmas cheer.
However before leaving the girls decided on a big festive dinner and drinks. Big is not an understatement.
The night before I stayed up on a secret mission.
Mission 1093: Make Gingerbread men
I wanted to surprise everyone!
Decorated and ready to eat, I hid them away and used them as namecards on the table at dinner time.
1tsp of ginger
1tsp of cinammon
200g light brown sugar
350g of plain flour
150g of butter
3tbsp of golden syrup
1tsp of bicarbonate of soda
- Mix all together, bake for 12 minutes, leave to cool and harden and decorate.
Icing sugar (lots to a tiny bit of water), writing icing and decorations.
We squished round our tiny table and ate more then we needed or wanted. Turkey, stuffing, roasted parsnips, carrots and potatoes, brussels and yorkshire puds. Followed by plum tart crumble, mince pies and ice-cream.
We giggled, chatted and exchanged secret santa presents.
After dinner nobody could move for a good hour. We ate early so had some time for our food to digest before the drinks and dancing commenced.
I very jolly night with all the girls and now it's home time!!
Any interesting weekend plans to share??
